Boys Will Be Boys! at Mo's

Hi There! Well this fortnight has been my beautiful boy's 15 birthday... wow!!, so grown up, I remember when he was only a little screaming munchkin.. and now he is a manly bellowing munchkin!! Teehee... just kidding! nah, he's a great kid.. the highlight of my life, and I cherish my life because of him... So when this fortnights challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog! happened to coordinate with MWHA!!! picking the theme!! of course I choose something that would work with me cheating and only making one card!! :)

This fortnights OPTIONAL theme is "Boys Will be Boys"... so that's right.. get out anything grubby, muddy, computer orientated, outdoorsy... or just with a BOY! on it!! :) it's that simple.. But if Boy cards are not your thing that's perfectly fine too, cause remember Mo's blog made that all important change to ANYTHING GOES each week for the challenges and the theme is just OPTIONAL now... so as long as you have a Mo's image on your card.. WE WANT TO SEE IT!! We were super thrilled with last weeks 50+ entries into the challenge and hope to see a lot more of that happening!! :)

Now onto the card... My son... TOTAL COMPUTER GEEK!! Obsessed with computers, has been his whole life. See he's Autistic and for many kids on the spectrum when they become obsessed with one thing, there life becomes all about that one thing. So it was only fitting that I made my sons FIRST CARD FROM ME!! yes you heard that right... I wasn't making cards this time last year, only started after his birthday, so it was only fitting his first card be on about gaming and computers. The image used is called "Video Boy" and is by Mo Manning. The Digital Papers I found for free at HaleGrafx. Card Design is a Silhouette File by Lori Whitlock called "Tri Fold Card: circle". "Happy Birthday Sentiment" Silhouette cutout by Sophie Gello.

OH OH OH... some other EXCITING NEWS!! I got myself  a Silhouette Cameo!! and I'm loving it!! so expect some weird and wonderful new cards from me, and some slight hiccups along the way as i stumble and fumble my way through learning how to use it!! :)

Hope you like it.
Digital Image  "Video Boy"  is drawn by Mo Manning. I love this image. I think it really captures the essence of a teenage gamer.. complete with shaggy hair, shoe laces untied and junk food wrappers everywhere... well at least, it suited my teen PERFECTLY!! LOL .
Take a look at how that card folds!!! So COOL!! with it's little hidden away message inside, and the slider piece with Mo Manning "Video Boy" Digital Image to hold it all in place. :) the perfect Boys card!
This piece is designed by Lori Whitlock to slide off, allowing you to open the "Tri Fold Circle Card" to reveal the inside. It really allows you to make it the hero of the card, and gives you an uninterrupted space to place a digital image, making it the central focus of the card!
The "Happy Birthday Sentiment" by Sophie Gello came as a singular font... I created the black offset/backing using my Silhouette program to add dimension and make the wording stand out against the colourful Pacman background paper. :) and isn't the card design just BRILLIANT when you pull it all out, you can see how it all unfolds. My son loved all the parts to this card, but in particular, the gamer that he is, he LOVED the Pacman Background paper by HaleGrafx. Can't get any more retro than Pacman, and it printed up brilliantly on the laser printer I have.

I hope you enjoyed my card this fortnight. I cannot wait to see ALL of those beautiful new entries I'm sure to see into this fortnights Anything Goes with OPTIONAL "Boys Will Be Boys" theme!! over at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog!. :)

Happy Crafting!!
Xo

  1. So cute! This reminds me of my son when he was about this age. He is now almost 40 and would love this card. Love that you used Pac Man!
